Dear Sister Bertha,
In the authority of the holy priesthood, confered upon me by an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I place my hands upon your head a blessing, which you have long sought, but which has not been given you until this present time.
You are of the House of Israel, a choice lineage, through the loins of Ephraim, son of Joseph who was sold into Egypt by his brethren. I say unto you, Bertha, be prayerful, diligent and call upon the Lord in faith when you are dispondent and discouraged, and He, if you go in faith, with a determination to be heard, will come to your rescue, and will never leave you alone.
You are about to go to the Temple of the Lord, and there, within its sacred precincts, enter into holy and sacred covenants. I abjure you, in the authority of my calling as a patriarch, to heed well the things you see and hear, and forever keep in mind the sacred covenants and obligations you enter into, and all the promises made there shall be realized, and remember, dear Sister, that you are taking upon yourself sacred responsibilities. If you are faithful and keep sacred these solemn covenants into which you enter; then you will receive the greatest blessings of your life. You are among the most favored of the Lord, and if you remain faithful all your days, keeping yourself clean and pure, keeping your mind from evil thoughts, striving to know the will of our Heavenly Father concerning your self and family, you will be of great assistance to your husband and become the mother of a respected and numerous family. Your name shall be recorded among the daughters of Israel, who have faith and wisdom to teach your children that they may be faithful Latter-Day-Saints.
Your name is recorded in Heaven, and your guardian angels, who were given to you when you were born upon the earth, are watching over you and encouraging you while you are in mortality.
You shall be blessed, provided you keep yourself clean and chaste, with influence for good among your sex, and you will be among those whom the Lord loves to honor. Seek the company of clean and pure people. Be careful of your actions. Be sure that your example is such that you can ask those with whom you associate and those of your sex who come to you for counsel and advise, do as you see me do. If you will do these things you shall be a great comfort and help to your husband, who will love and cherish you. Strive with all your heart to make a pleasant and happy home for him and the children with whom you will be blesed. If you will do this, walking in obedience to the commandments, you shall be blessed with power to explain the principles of the gospel in plainness and simplicity.
I pronounce upon you power to rise from the grave in the first resurrection, blessed with a numerous posterity, crowned a princess in the Celestial Kingdom of God, to dwell throughout the countless ages of eternity, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
