Clyde was the grandfather of six granddaughters who do not remember much about him. His eldest granddaughter, Venna Cluff Long, remembers him as a man who commanded much respect. She remembers a time when she dared talk back to him and met with his immediate chastisement. As he walked away there was a smile on his face and she knew he loved her and respected her for standing up for herself. He loved all his granddaughters very much.
